What happens to what you type

Your hours, dates and pay figures stay in your browser. Every calculation runs as JavaScript on your own device, nothing you type into a calculator is sent anywhere, nothing is stored, and it all disappears when you close or reset the page. Calculator inputs are never attached to a report.

What the page itself loads

Loading a page requests only files from this site: the page, its JavaScript, its stylesheet and its fonts. The fonts are served from this site rather than requested from a separate font provider. There are no trackers, no analytics scripts, no embedded videos or maps, and no advertising code.

The report form

The Report an issue form is the only part of this site that sends anything off your device, and only when you choose to submit it.

• What is collected: the category you choose, your message, the page you were on, your email address if you supply one, and a one-way hashed value derived from your IP address. The hash is used to limit repeated automated submissions; the IP address itself is not stored in the report.
• Purpose: to investigate reported calculation errors and technical problems, consider suggestions, answer privacy enquiries, and prevent spam.
• Lawful basis: legitimate interests in keeping the calculator accurate and the form usable. Supplying an email address is optional and is needed only if you want a reply.
• Where it is stored: in a database provided by Lovable, the platform that hosts this site, acting as processor. Reports cannot be read, listed, changed or deleted by visitors.
• Retention: reports are proposed to be kept for 12 months and then deleted. This period is awaiting the operator’s confirmation and will be stated as final once confirmed.
• No onward sending: submissions are not emailed, forwarded to a notification service, or passed to any external delivery provider. They are read manually.

Please do not include sensitive employment information, payslips, contracts or other documents in a report. A short description is enough.

Accounts, cookies and consent

There are no accounts and no sign-up. The site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so under the UK rules on storage and access technologies (PECR) there is nothing here that needs a consent banner. That is why you are not being asked to click one.

Hosting records

Separately from anything you type into a calculator, the hosting service receives the technical information needed to answer a page request, such as the requesting IP address, browser information, page requested and time. The host may keep operational and security logs as needed to run and protect its service, and longer while investigating an incident. It does not publish a fixed retention period for those logs. Calculator inputs are not included in the page request. The purpose of these records is to deliver the pages and protect the service from faults and abuse; the lawful basis relied on is legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable website. The hosting service uses subprocessors and contractual safeguards for international transfers; its current providers and locations are maintained in its own trust documentation.

If advertising is added later

No advertising runs on the site today and no ad network code is included. Ad networks do set cookies and similar identifiers on your device, which needs your consent first. So if advertising is ever switched on, a consent banner and an updated version of this page — naming the network and your choices — have to come with it.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to or deletion of your personal data, or object to its use. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
